Stand Up Against Racism

Stand Up Against Racism was launched in response to the worrying success of the British National Party in recent elections. We organised Stand Up Against Racism comedy shows in the run-up to the 2010 General Election: our aim is to counter some of the BNP and similar far-right organisations' views using the power of humour. See our SUAR YouTube page for footage from these events.

A host of comedians support this initiative and have donated their time to perform at our gigs in Newcastle, London, Cardiff and Glasgow.

Comedians supporting the campaign include:

Stephen K Amos, John Bishop, Kevin Day, Omid Djalili, Michael Fabri, Ashley Frieze, Stephen Grant, Jeremy Hardy, Nick Helm, Kai Humphries, Jeff Innocent, Dave Johns, Shappi Khorsandi, Sarah Millican, Shazia Mirza, Patrick Monahan, Daniel Simonsen, Paul Sinha, John Scott, Anvil Springstein, Paul F Taylor, Mark Thomas, Ava Vidal, Gavin Webster, Joe Wells

"Humour is the
weapon of unarmed
people; it helps people
who are oppressed to smile
at the situation that pains them."
