Schools' Competition Update

 

 

 

 

 

Show Racism the Red Card, has joined forces with Scotland’s leading education bodies, Learning and Teaching Scotland (LTS) and the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) to develop and promote our2010 creative competition.

We know that there is a phenomenal creative talent in Scotland’s schools and colleges and we want to use that talent to get across the message that racism has no place in Scotland.

The 2010 competition is bigger and more inclusive than ever with categories for Special Schools and Further Education Colleges added, and it supports the main aims and capabilities of the Curriculum for Excellence.

All you have to do is develop a piece of creative work that gets across loud and clear that racism is not welcome in Scotland. This could be:

• Artwork
• Music or song
• Poetry or short story
• Dance or drama
• Multimedia presentation
• Research project

In fact it could be anything that is creative, inspirational and stimulated by the anti –racist theme (as long as it’s within the competition rules). Entries are welcome from individuals and class groups.

Winners will be invited to a star – studded award ceremony at Scotland’s National Stadium, Hampden Park, attended by the elite of Scottish football, to receive public acclaim for their work and pick up superb prizes.
