The 2005 Schools Competition

The 2005 Schools Competition was our most successful yet, with over 1022 schools registering. Congratulations to all our young winners.

We held 4 regional prize giving ceremonies at football clubs around the country, followed by a national prize giving ceremony at the Park Lane Hilton on Wednesday 11th May.

All of these events were very special occasions for all involved, with many football players and managers taking time out from their busy schedules to come and present prizes to the young people. At the Hilton, Robbie Earle, John Barnes, Graham Taylor, and Heather Small (M People) were among those in attendance.

The football clubs donated another selection of excellent prizes with the overall winners won a trip to Arsenal's Training Ground to meet Thierry Henry, the Second Place winners won tickets with after match lounge passes to the Championship play off finals and the 3rd place winner was presented with her cheque at half time during a Birmingham City match. Many other clubs including Chelsea, Man U and Liverpool also donated VIP days, tickets and signed memorabilia.
