Hall of Fame
On Friday 02nd May, Shaka Hislop, Chris Hughton, Dean Gordon, Joe
Shaw of the Newcastle Falcons and Gary Bennett attended a press
conference in the Media Suite at St James to discuss this years
Show Racism the Red Card Hall of Fame awards.
The Hall of Fame this year is being hosted by the Prime Minister
in Number 10 Downing Street on Monday 12th of May at 6pm.
Show Racism the Red Card is now in it's 12th year and back in 2004 we decided to give Hall of Fame awards to our longest standing patrons and supporters. The press conference will give the north east media the chance to ask our longest serving patrons what our organisation is hoping to achieve.
Ged Grebby of Show Racism the Red Card said: "Having Number
10 Downing Street for this years Hall of Fame is a great coup for
our organisation. We are proud of our North East roots and the fact
that the campaign is now well known throughout Europe but still
has its head office here on North Tyneside. The Hall of Fame is
our way of thanking the players who have given their time so generously
to make our anti-racist campaign such a success. Geremi will be
the lastest person to join our Hall of Fame before the Newcastle
United v Chelsea on Monday 05th of May."
