Italian FA adopts FIFA anti-racism measures

The Italian football federation (FIGC) has formally adopted new FIFA guidelines aimed at ending racism in football.

FIGC said the guidelines, aimed at stamping out racism in the stands and on the terraces worldwide, would be incorporated into Italian football's disciplinary machinery from July.

The FIFA regulations stiffen penalties against fans and players found guilty of showing racist attitudes. They make it mandatory to close grounds where racist incidents occur.
