New rules apply to all levels of Football say FIFA

FIFA have confirmed that new rules on sanctions to be levied on clubs found guilty of racism will also apply to amateur football.

The FIFA Executive Committee approved an amendment to article 55 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code last night setting out the sporting sanctions that will be applied to clubs.

FIFA spokesman Andreas Herren said: "The new regulations cover all areas of the game. Any footballing body that falls under the jurisdiction of one of our member national associations must comply with these new rules."

This could have an impact on the problems of racism in grassroots football and the way in which regional amateur leagues take action in Scotland."
