More on this article...

Each year, thousands of young people of all ages and abilities produce artwork, creative writing, music and film pieces with an anti-racist theme. The SRtRC competition is a great way for young people to get involved in anti-racism and be creative. It is an ideal follow-on activity to working with SRtRC resources.

Winners of the competition are invited to a special awards ceremony to receive prizes such as signed football shirts, balls, match tickets, VIP visits to stadiums and training grounds and much more besides. Professional footballers attend the ceremony to present the prizes, including in the last two years England internationals Theo Walcott and Ashley Young.

The overall winner of 2009’s competition visited Manchester United’s training ground and met Ryan Giggs which you can watch here.

This is the tenth consecutive competition that SRtRC have organised and with 2010 being a World Cup year you can be sure that this year’s competition will be the best yet. Make sure your school is involved by registering before February 26th 2010.

The full rules of the competition and details of how to register are available here
