Resources for Schools

Show Racism the Red Card have produced a series of excellent educational resources. These include videos, DVDs and Education Packs. More information on these products and how to order them, can be found in our Resources section.

England - Schools Competition 2008

This is the eighth successive year that we have run an anti-racist schools competition and we have found them to be an extremely useful way of engaging young peoples' interest in anti-racism.

The Prize Giving Ceremony for the 2007 Competition took place at the new Wembley Stadium, all prize winners from England attended and received their prizes which included an England Shirt, ball and cap, signed shirts, match tickets and a framed certificate. SRTRC will organise a similarly prestigious Prize Giving Event for the winners of the 2008 competition.

Anti-racist School Competition 2007

Show Racism the Red Card is an anti-racist charity, which specialises in producing educational resources. These include videos, a DVD, magazines, posters and education packs. The aim of our project is to combat racism through the use of footballers as anti-racist role models. We are fortunate to have the backing of many top managers and players. This is the seventh successive year that we have run an anti-racist schools competition and we have found them to be an extremely useful way of encouraging young peoples' interest in anti-racism.

The Show Racism the Red Card video/DVD is 20 minutes long and conveys a powerful anti-racist message through the medium of professional football. It covers new ground in anti-racist education and is suitable for broad range of age groups. The video/DVD features interviews with some of the most popular footballers currently in the game and is accompanied by a new education pack with ideas and activities suitable for a broad age range, from Primary to Secondary schools.

2005 Competition - Results

School Competition winners at MolineuxThe 2005 Schools Competition was our most successful yet, with over 1022 schools registering. Congratulations to all our young winners.

We held 4 regional prize giving ceremonies at football clubs around the country, followed by a national prize giving ceremony at the Park Lane Hilton on Wednesday 11th May.

All of these events were very special occasions for all involved, with many football players and managers taking time out from their busy schedules to come and present prizes to the young people. At the Hilton, Robbie Earle, John Barnes, Graham Taylor, and Heather Small (M People) were among those in attendance.

School Competition winners The football clubs donated another selection of excellent prizes with the overall winners won a trip to Arsenal's Training Ground to meet Thierry Henry, the Second Place winners won tickets with after match lounge passes to the Championship play off finals and the 3rd place winner was presented with her cheque at half time during a Birmingham City match. Many other clubs including Chelsea, Man U and Liverpool also donated VIP days, tickets and signed memorabilia.

A big thank you to all of the schools who took part, football clubs that donated prizes, Coutts Bank, the players and managers who came to the ceremonies and the staff and volunteers who worked tirelessly to help make this competition a great success especially our project worker Gavin Sutherland.
