Show Racism the Red Card in WalesCardiff City show racism the red card12 November 2006 Cardiff City hosted a Show Racism the Red Card event at Ninian Park and as with previous seasons, it was very successful. The panel assembled to answer questions from an audience of young people from 2 local schools included Cardiff City players Willo Flood and Malvin Kamara, also on the Panel was Ged Grebby, UK Project Co-ordinator and the Wales Co-Ordinator Sunil Patel. The event was chaired by Dawes Hayes, and Dave Bennett was also in attendance to take part in the Question and answer session with the panel. The event saw the unveiling of the new Cardiff City FC/SRTRC poster, copies of which were distributed with magazines, bags and stickers. After viewing the DVD, the young people were able to ask questions of the panel on racism, every questioner receiving a SRTRC wristband, the panel handled all the questions comprehensively. The questions asked were of high standard and the panel handled all the questions comprehensively, the overall winner of the best question received a football signed by all the Cardiff City players. There was Media interest on the day too, with players interviewed by Red Dragon Radio as was Wales Co-ordinator Sunil Patel, regional newspaper South Wales Echo also covered the event and Dave Bennett handled there press enquiries at the event. The message would have been conveyed again by activities at the Cardiff City home match against QPR the following day. Players from both clubs warmed up wearing the Show Racism the Red Card t-shirts prior to kick off. Show Racism the Red Card would like to thank Cardiff City FC and in particular Nick Alford for organising the event and the involvement of Cardiff City players, Scott Young for inviting the local schools, Dave Bennett , one of our Patrons who participated on the panel and Dawn Hayes who chaired the event.
